Monarch Butterflies

For quite some years I'd known about the Sanctuary of the Monarch butterflies in Michoacan, Mexico. They migrate every year from the Rocky Mountains in Canada to a warmer weather (hence the beautiful and warm weather in Mexico!). I'm currently here and can't believe that this was one of the most amazing journeys and sceneries I've been too. From hoping on a horse for a couple of hours in the middle of the pine oak forest to arrive to the sanctuary between the cliffs, and without talking because they would scare and go away, the only sound I could hear was the beating of wings that they made. The trees were totally full with them and the splash of colors was unbelievable. Hope I can transmit some of this marvelous experience through these photos.
It was so nice spending time here before heading back to the freezing Europe! Time to start packing again.
